How To Connect With Anyone In Less Than 90 Seconds

"When we meet people, we’re trying to get as much knowledge as possible from as little information as possible. What if I told you that you have less than 90 seconds before someone you just met has formed an impression of you? Well, it’s true."

Part of my job in the service industry is being able to form connections with some of the customers that I have in a very short amount of time. With almost all of my income coming from the impression that I make on customers, there are a lot of things that I need to be aware of. One of the most important things that I have noticed is making a good first impression, one of the best ways to do this involves the 10 tips that are given in the article. It is important to greet them with a smile and make eye contact when introducing yourself. Part of the reason that I know some of these work is when we are busy and I don't always have the time to make the best first impression possible I have noticed that customers aren't as talkative.

Learning how to use some of these skills has helped me a lot in my summer jobs. Customers will open up a lot more to me, they will sometimes stay later for some extra drinks just to talk longer. Some customers have even offered me jobs through the company they work at. Using these skills can help in more fields than just the service industry, making sure that you are making the best impression to other customers, employees, and management is all something that can help you in your career.
